Senior Workers Compensation Examiner at Keenan & Associates
Gayle Porter-Ventus began her insurance career in healthcare billing claims processing, while attending college at CSU Dominguez Hills. Searching for a new change after college, Gayle transitioned to the field of workers’ compensation as in examiner at State Compensation Insurance Fund (SCIF), where she received extensive training in workers’ compensation laws for California. Gayle later moved to self-insured workers’ comp claims at Los Angeles Metropolitan Transportation Authority. Since 2015, Gayle has been a senior workers compensation examiner at Keenan & Associates.
Early in her workers’ compensation career Gayle realized how important her role in workers’ compensation is and has continued to set the “bar” high for herself. Gayle is the holder of a California Self Insured Certificate and continues seek education in the field of workers’ compensation.
As a mother of two daughters, Gayle has strived to show her daughters the importance of helping others in need. Gayle has volunteered at A Place Called Home, to help give prom clothing to high school students in her community of South LA. Gayle regularly participates in several fundraising efforts to help the homeless population of Los Angeles.
Sitting on the first board of the African American Workers’ Compensation Professionals (AAWCP) and holding the title of treasurer, Gayle will continue to work on building a strong and united African American bond in our industry.
